Soc Class Minor 700

Notre Dame’s Department of Sociology has added a minor, providing the opportunity for students pursuing careers in medicine, law, business, or any other area to gain a solid foundation in sociology methods and concepts.

The five-course minor includes two required courses, one in research methods and one in theory. The three remaining courses are sociology electives.

“We think this is going to be a very popular minor,” said Rory McVeigh, chair of the department. “We have a much more scholarly diverse faculty than in the past—experts in medical sociology, law and society, and economic sociology. It’s a great thing to have that faculty diversity and a broader range of students taking our courses.”

The new minor is now open to all students.
