Study Abroad

Student Studying Abroad In Europe

Many of our students go abroad, either during one semester of their junior year or over the summer break. Many of our students use their time abroad to do research for a thesis or capstone. You can almost always find a SOC class wherever you study, even if those classes are cross-listed in other departments.

Notre Dame International

There are 48 semester and academic-year programs and 19 summer programs spread across 26 countries. Because we believe every student should have the opportunity to study abroad, our programs suit a variety of schedules and interests. We’re here to help you pick the right one. But it’s not just the quantity of our programs – it’s the quality. Once abroad, our students go further than studying in a different country or in a different language. They immerse themselves in the local culture. They tackle service projects, internships, research, extracurricular activities, and field trips, all of which open their eyes to new cultures, new people, and new mindsets.
