Sehrazat Gulsum is a Ph.D. student in the Sociology & Peace Studies program. She is a Doctoral Student Affiliate of the Kellogg Institute for International Studies and a 2018-2019 Mullen Family Fellow. She received her B.A. degrees (with high honors) in Political Science & International Relations and in Sociology from Bogazici University (Turkey) in 2018.
She is primarily interested in the socio-political conditions that facilitate or obstruct participatory and deliberative urban governance and the role of urban movements in shaping the city. Currently, she is working on her MA thesis, which explores the bureaucratic and organizational dynamics of urban transformation in Turkey.
She is also a part of an ongoing bibliometric mapping project investigating the divide between the global North and the global South regarding publications and authorship in Peace Studies.
