Profile

I joined the program in 2019, and my main interests are in the field of organization sociology and political sociology. I earned my BA and MA from Peking University. In China, I participated in several field researches on topics ranging from the informal resistance of land-lost farmers to the local officials' policy implementation. Currently, I'm working on my MA paper, which focuses on Chinese local officials' using informal relationships in their daily works. I'm curious about how do these informal relationships help to maintain good governance. Specifically, what problems do officials meet when they use relations to achieve public goals? What kind of coping strategies do they devise? And Why can these strategies put into effect?
