Profile

Carly is a member of the 2020 cohort and Presidential Fellowship recipient in the Department of Sociology. She received her BA in Sociology from Illinois Wesleyan University in 2017, where she graduated summa cum laude with research honors. Prior to starting graduate studies at Notre Dame, she worked as Assistant Director of Admissions for Illinois Wesleyan. She has conducted research on gender essentialist and heteronormative attitudes in Neo-Pagan communities, and her current research interests include sociology of religion, gender identity, and queer sexualities.
