Kelcie graduated from Asbury University with a B.A. in Sociology in 2009. Her research interests include family, culture, and media and communication technologies. She has worked with professor Jessica Collett on a project about fatherhood definitions and identity among men in low-income communities. Her master's thesis looked at the emotion work and commodification practices among lifestyle bloggers, and her dissertation research explores how families purchase homes. Kelcie joined the Department of Sociology at Notre Dame in 2012.
