Profile

Rachel is a doctoral student in the Department of Sociology and an affiliate of the Center for Research on Education Opportunity. Rachel joined the department at Notre Dame in 2018 with an MSc in Sociology from the London School of Economics and a BA with majors in Music and in Society and Environment and a minor in Public Policy from the University of California, Berkeley. She has also worked for many years as a music educator and in performing arts management. Her research interests include racial, gender and socioeconomic inequality in education; extracurricular activities; opportunity hoarding and the intergenerational transmission of advantage; arts and culture.
