Profile
Shafiq completed her M.A. thesis on feminist attitudes in South Asia in May 2006. Her intended dissertation focuses on Pakistan’s ideology with emphasis on the role of Islam. She recently presented a paper in the ASR taking a micro-sociological approach to religious conversions in South Asia. Shafiq has had teaching experience as a graduate assistant in a social movement seminar. She is currently assisting David Hachen in an Introduction To Sociology class.
