Profile

Brandy is currently working on her dissertation, which combines qualitative and quantitative methods to examine grades as representations of academic outcomes.  She continues to pursue other research interests including labor market outcomes for refugees and gender differences in college graduation rates.  Brandy is also a Teaching Fellow at the University of Notre Dame.  She will teach a First-Year Composition course in Fall 2007 and a course of her own design on stratification in media and research in Spring 2008.  She has previously taught Introduction to Sociology, Social Problems, and a multicultural issues course for teachers seeking certification in English as a New Language instruction.  In addition, Brandy remains active in the university community by participating in a graduate school mentorship program, a grant review committee, and various panels and forums.
