Erika Summers-Effler joined Notre Dame’s sociology department as an assistant professor in the fall of 2004.
Her research focuses on micro sociology, including: interaction, emotion, small groups, micro dynamics of culture, and the constitution and processes of the self. She has published in the areas of social theory, social movements, culture, and gender.
