Profile
Mark L. Gunty is the Assistant Director of Institutional Research and Concurrent Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Notre Dame in 1993 and is currently working in outcomes assessment and campus climate studies in higher education. His ongoing topical interests are in the development of social responsibility (with concern for creating valid measures for that concept) and in the social construction of masculinity. He is also developing groundbreaking tools specifically for assessing the outcomes of a legal education. One of his primary teaching goals is to help undergraduate majors achieve accuracy in empirical research while remaining sensitive to the non-scientific dimensions of social interaction.
